An Infant with Toxoplasmosis Retinochoroiditis: A Case Report from the Philippines

Toxoplasmosis is a major and preventable cause of severe visual handicap blindness among young people. More specifically, retinochoroiditis (TRC) caused by Toxoplasma gondii rare but serious manifestation toxoplasma infection. There are only two probable means acquiring the disease, through congenital route acquired. In Philippines, there few reported cases studies about TRC in human population. With this, also paucity available therapy for this condition. Diagnostic tools not readily most areas Philippines. This report classic infection 9-month-old patient presenting with subtle eye symptoms. The use serologic markers supported initial impression.
